The JET Brush Sander is the cheapest way of brushing and at the same time the most productive one in its category. It only takes 4 minutes to brush out 1 to 2 m of pine. There's no need to bother with hand-held tools, you lose too much time using them.
So what exactly is brushing of wood?
Wood brushing or structuring was developed on demand for imitating of an old rustic look by highlighting the structure of grain. A so-called brushing out of the softer grain. To complete and even highlight the old look you can use the techniques of patination, macerating or burning. But the brushing itself is the first and most important step when imitating the old look.
So how does it work?
Brushing itself is basically a simple operation, but can be quite demanding, especially when using power tools. Smaller mouldings or picture frames should be rather altered with a wire brush in a drill. That way, you hold more control over the result. You control the depth of brushing simply by pressure. You can use a steel or nylon brush, depending on the required look. There are also other hand-held brush sanders on the market, suitable for smaller surfaces, occasional work or brushing of installed surfaces. Using a stationary Brush Sander, however, is far more efficient and progressive. The advantage of mechanical brushing is the possibility of choosing the intensity of the applied pressure, feed speed and the rpm. This allows equal removal of grain along the entire surface of worked material without any signs of movement.
The cheapest brushing machine
The JET JBS-22 Brush sander is a compact machine, which meets all the requirements necessary for small and medium-sized operations (expected use: 500m2/month). Ideal for brushing, profile brushing and grinding. The Brush sander is fitted with one nylon brush of 46G, which removes spring grain and highlights the structure of wood when rotating. The hardness of brushed wood, grit, brush material, number of passes or direction of the pass all influence the intensity of brushing. The brush fitted Sander can brush out 1m2 of pine in 4 minutes. Which is almost four times faster than manual brushing with a hand-held sander.

Adjustable feed speed of the workpiece - the conveyor belt can be regulated in the range of 0 - 3 m/min., according to the setup of pressure. The feed speed regulation is guided with SandSmart system, which automatically reduces feed speed when the machine is overloaded (an indicator light turns on).

The digital readout allows to accurately set-up the thickness of brushed material or to intensify pressure when brushing.

The adjustment knob lets you set the desired height and pressure of brushing and is placed on the top of the sander. Thanks to the height adjustment conversion, the height adjusts equally along the brush, which allows the perfect precision of brushing.
