Size and capacity
JET DDS-225 Dual Drum sander is not unnecessarily spacious, the total size is 1090 x 1120 x 1090 mm. Even though it handles sanding of a wide range of parts from thin to wide, the minimum thickness is 3mm and the maximum one 110mm, thanks to its range it offers a wide range of possibilities.
There is an openable cover in the upper part of the machine, which provides easy access to the sanding drums. Also, a set of special suction vents helps with the removal of a maximum amount of dust from the drums. Rubberized pressure rollers provide perfect and accurate sanding.
Spacious and robust construction of the machine
JET DDS-225 dual drum sander has a robust steel frame and an all-steel closed cover. The lower part consists of an openable door with an access to the engine, the propulsion system and storage. The door also provides access to the insides of the machine when maintenance is due.
The upper part can be lifted up as a whole, this guarantees easy manipulation with the drums and simple replacement of the abrasive. Also, the upper part comes equipped with a pair of 100mm dust extraction outlets. These outlets are linked to a pair of special directional buffers, which enhance the effectiveness of dust extraction. However, for maximum efficiency and cleanliness in your workshop, it is recommended to use the JET micro-filtering extension as well.
Steel Drums
JET DDS-225 dual drum sander comes equipped with a pair of steel drums with a continuous speed of 1400 rpm. The drums have been carefully surfaced and coated with rubber, this allows for a levelled sanding surface. There is no deflection, even when working with heavy duty material, the machine leaves you with precision, flatness and consistent surface, all this thanks to the diameter of 150mm and a steel construction of the drums.
Installation of the abrasive cloth (on the left) is easy and safe thanks to wedge clamps. The height of the rear drum can be adjusted (on the right) and thanks to this button you can even out the difference when using multiple coarse abrasives.
The rear drum can be independently adjusted, which offers fine-tuning, especially when using an abrasive with coarseness different to the front drum. The precise setting of the height is simple and easy thanks to a handy graph installed under the detent of the rear drum.
The replacement of the abrasive cloth is simple and quick. First, you loosen the two clamps affixed to the drum by two screws. Then you put the abrasive cloth under the clamp and secure it. After reeling in the cloth, you put the end of it under the clamp and tighten the securing screw.
The pressure rollers are easily adjusted with the help of hefty, but simple mechanisms. Those are located in the upper part for easy access.
The three pressure rollers are fully adjustable. Easy to use controllers are installed in the upper part on both ends of the roller. These adjustable systems are designed to secure the material during prolonged use.
Conveyor table and belt
The robust and cast-iron table is carefully surfaced to secure an even flatness. You can adjust the height of the table using four threaded rods controlled by a chain mechanism, which affix the height of the table in the position you set it up in.
The conveyor belt runs on a cast-iron table.
The conveyor belt is driven with a two-speed gearbox(on the left), which you can use when the machine is running. The adjustments on both ends of the table (on the right) allow for a straight run and perfect strain of the belt.
The security and tight grip on the material is handled by the rubber-textile belt. The adjustments on both ends of the table allow for a straight run and perfect strain of the belt.
A separate motor with a gearbox runs the conveyer belt in two different feed speeds of 2 or 3 m/min. The gearbox allows for a change in speeds from high to low or a complete stop.
